Woodbug

DSC_8368

Happy holidays!

I made this hexapod with my laser-cut wooden construction kit and a bunch of M2 screws. I've shared (CC license) the plans for the construction kit on Ponoko http://www.ponoko.com/design-your-own/products/construction-set-6760.

Construction set: rods of various lengths

Construction set: angle brackets with T-slots for M2 screws

  1. Very clever how you made the pieces to attach at 90 degrees. That will also be very useful to me in some robot applications I am designing. Thanks!

  2. Cool, look forward to seeing what you produce.

Interestingly, the parts at the bottom of the brackets design with one T slot and one through-hole seem to be the most useful; at least for the Woodbug.

  3. Very nice project, Shaun.

You should consider posting it on Thingiverse.com, too. It'd get a wider set of eyes looking at it.
